My name is Cyan. I’m a 26-year-old artist living in Richmond, VA. I’m originally from Chattanooga, TN.
Currently my work is examining how the objects, places, and people around us shape who we are, whether we want it to or not. I am interested in how communities are made, relationships formed, and beliefs modeled.
I graduated Covenant College in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies. My education in religion, culture, history, and feminist studies has become such a strong foundation for how I see the world.
In these past four years, art has given me a language, a place to process my experiences, my beliefs, and my emotions. Art is intimate and vulnerable. To be able to create art and connect with others through my work is empowering for both of us.
